TG09 "Fruits of Labor"
This drawing commissioned for Jack Daniel Distillery is about craftsmen who take their art seriously. Jack Daniel, who set out to make the finest whiskey in the world, starting with filling an old whiskey jug, winning the gold medal at the world’s Fair in 1904, to the excellent whiskey we know today. The wood craftsman, who can go from roughly carved bowls that hold his finely carved fruit. And the artist, who tries to capture the essence of these works in a detailed, pleasurable setting to the viewer, of these craftsman’s works of art.
